✨Roll A Christmas Tree Game Instructions
- Shuffle the cards well before starting.
- Place each printable card face down.
- Players will take turns flipping over one card, then the next, with the object being trying to make a pair.
- If the cards match, the player keeps them. If they don’t match, turn them back over face down where they were originally.
- The one with the most matching pairs wins!
Give each person a tree game board and enough candies to fill the tree.
The first person to go should be the youngest (or you can choose the first player based on who gets the highest number when rolling). They will roll one die.
Then depending on the number that is rolled, they will place a candy or marker on the tree that matches the number.
Pass the die to the next player and repeat until all of the circles are covered.
Only one candy or marker can be placed on the Christmas tree sheet per turn.
If someone rolls a color that they have already filled, nothing is filled and it’s the next persons turn.
More Ways to Play
This is a great activity to play in the classroom, but you may want to divide children in small groups or teams.
If you have lots of younger kids, you can give them their bowl of candy and just let them roll separately to see who can make a complete tree first, versus going around in a circle.

- We love laminating this printable game to make it last longer.
- For best results, use a heavier white cardstock. You can use regular paper too if you just want to play the game one or twice.
- Check ink levels before printing for the best print quality. No printer? Your local print shop can help, and they are usually reasonably priced or you can check an online print shop.
- If you need another size other than US Letter for the game mats, check your printer settings.
- In the classroom setting if you didn’t want to use candy, you could use colored counters.
This easy game is a great way to add some festiveness and fun to the holiday season! We hope party guests and students enjoy it as much as we do! It’s a simple activity that makes the perfect Christmas party game but also a fun way to add holiday spirit to math centers in the classroom.
