Doing puzzles is the perfect activity for early finishers in the class too.

Paper – to print the game and scavenger hunt clues on.
Pens/pencils – to write in the words. I prefer pencils just in case I make a mistake.
*Optional – laminator or sheet protectors – this is a great way to make the puzzles reusable without using tons of ink and paper. They also have self laminating sheets that are a little more expensive, but you don’t have to have the actual machine.

✨Christmas Crossword Instructions
If you aren’t familiar with crossword puzzles, let’s go over what to do.
First, you’ll see some clues, usually divided into two sections: “Across” and “Down.” The “Across” clues are for the words that go from left to right, and the “Down” clues are for words that go from top to bottom.
Start with one that you know you have the correct answer for. Then build off of that one to get the first couple of words.
Once you are finished, check the answer key to see if you beat the puzzle on the first attempt! Remember, all of these are Christmas words.

💡Helpful Tips
- This crossword is perfect for most elementary and middle school kids (plus older). If you have younger children that want to play, you could always create them a word bank or word list with the answers listed out of order for a little hint.
- For the highest quality feel use a nice heavy card stock.
- Check ink levels before printing. No printer? Local print shops can help, and they are usually reasonably priced or you can check an online print shop.
- If you need another size other than US Letter, check your printer settings.
