🌟What’s Included
A printable template that a has a cute poem already printed. Simply add your child’s handprint and you have a fun thanksgiving craft and keepsake.
📌What You’ll Need
- Washable paint or ink pad – you’ll also need a paper plate if you are using paint to dip the child’s hand in. You can use a different color of acrylic paint if you would like, but we designed these for brown paint, orange paint, green paint, and red.

- paper – you can use a regular piece of white paper, but white cardstock is great for keepsake art because it holds up better.
- Orange, Red, and Black Marker – for the eyes on the turkey, orange beak, and neck. You could also glue on googly eyes instead if you don’t want to draw.
- Note: The digital files doesn’t include the actual handprint, that is meant to be completed by the child or student.
✨Turkey Handprint Craft Instructions
- Once your have printed file of choice, let the kids choose their favorite color of paint or ink.
- We recommend starting with the fingers first for the turkey’s feathers since these are different colors.
- Press their fingers firmly on the paper without moving it around. Wash their hands.
- Then move on to using brown paint for the body of the turkey.
- Let your child’s handprints dry completely before moving it.
- Wash the little hands, and you are all done!
If you wanted to make the turkey all at one time, use a paintbrush to spread the different colors onto the child’s hand.

💡Helpful Tips

- For best results, use a nice heavy card stock or white construction paper.
- Check your printer settings and ink levels first before printing your printable art. We recommend using the best quality mode for the most vibrant colors.
- No printer? Your local print shop can help, and they are usually reasonably priced or you can check an online print shop.
- While you could use construction paper, some of the colors may not show up as well depending on color.
- If you need another size other than US letter size – 8.5 x11, check your printer settings.
- Check the label to make sure you are using washable paint to make clean up easier.
