✨Setting Up the Bee Themed Sensory Bin
Gather all your materials and have them ready for setup.
Create the sensory bin base by evenly spreading wooden shavings across the bottom.

Arrange the flat paper flowers inside the bin to represent the blossoms that bees visit.

Place the honeycomb ice tray in the bin as a stand-in for the beehive, setting the tongs nearby for easy access.

Add pom poms to the flower centers to represent pollen.

Scatter small bee figurines throughout—some on the flowers and a few resting on the beehive.

🐝Bee Bracelet Instructions
- Print and cut out the bee bracelet template. Choose from three fun options:
- Use the pre-made bee illustration for a quick craft.
- Let your child color the outline version before cutting it out.
- Cut out the bee parts template and have your child trace them onto colored paper for a more hands-on activity.
- Double-check that you have all the bee parts and bracelet strap pieces ready before assembling.
- Take the long black strip of paper, which will serve as the bracelet band, and ensure it fits comfortably around your child’s wrist.
- Using a glue stick, attach the bee design to the center of the bracelet strip.
- Create two small paper loops at each end of the strap to act as a closure, making sure they securely hold the bracelet in place when worn.

Use the task cards to guide the child through interactive activities that encourage hands-on learning, problem-solving, and creative play.

🍯Using the Bee Activity Task Cards
Want to make your bee sensory bin even more exciting? These fun and interactive task cards turn playtime into a hands-on learning adventure! Your little one will buzz with excitement as they act like a busy bee—pollinating flowers, helping bees find their hive, and even learning how honey is made. It’s the perfect mix of fine motor skills, sensory play, and nature exploration!
Ways to Use the Task Cards:
- Pollination in Action – Have your child place yellow pompoms (representing pollen) in the center of the paper flowers. Using wooden tongs, they can “be the bee” and transfer the pollen to the honeycomb, just like real bees do!
- Help the Bees Find Their Home – Scatter small bee figurines throughout the bin. Using the tongs, challenge your child to carefully pick up each bee and place it in the honeycomb ice tray (the beehive).
- Bee Poem & Mini Quiz – Read the bee-themed poem included on the task card, then ask your child fun questions like:
- Why do bees fly from flower to flower?
- Where do bees take the pollen they collect?
- What colors can you find on a bee’s body?
- Where do bees find nectar and pollen?
- How Bees Make Honey – Use the sensory bin to act out the honey-making process. Start by collecting “pollen” from the flowers, placing it in the beehive, and discussing how bees turn it into honey.
These simple but engaging activities will have your child thinking, exploring, and maybe even pretending to bee a little buzzing friend. So grab those tongs, scoop up some “pollen,” and let the hive action begin!

💡Helpful Tips
- Other fillers that can be used for sensory bins are beans, or dyed rice or pasta.
- Using the boxes makes clean up a breeze and you can easily store and get it back out when toddlers are ready to play again.
Who knew learning about bees could be this much fun? With free printables, hands-on activities, and plenty of buzzing excitement, your toddler or preschooler will love pretending to be a busy bee while developing fine motor skills, problem-solving, and early science concepts
