An easy fall sensory bin that uses colorful cereal and play apples for harvesting fun. Great for toddlers and preschoolers to practice scooping, sorting, and pretend play.

Supplies & Materials

  • Apple Jacks cereal
  • Fake apples foam or plastic
  • Small bowl
  • Cupcake liners
  • Scoop

Instructions

  • Pour a layer of Apple Jacks cereal into a bin or shallow container.
  • Place fake apples around the bin like they’ve fallen from trees.
  • Add the bowl, liners, and scoop for play.

How Kids Play:

  • Scoop Apple Jacks into bowls or liners to “harvest” the orchard.
  • Count, sort, or “sell” apples at a pretend stand.
  • Use the supplies for baking pretend apple treats.

Notes

  • Use a shallow bin for easier scooping.
  • Swap in red pom-poms if you don’t have fake apples.
  • Keep a dustpan nearby for quick cleanup.
  • Store leftover cereal in a sealed bag to reuse.
